Papa John’s Pizza

One day, a childhood friend and business partner, Billy Trotter, who was Chairman of the Board of Chart House, Inc., purchased the franchise rights for Papa John’s Pizza for the State of Louisiana and asked me to find the property locations for his restaurants. The founder of the parent company, John Schneider, was from Louisville, Kentucky. Billy and I were at the ground floor of developing this concept and at the point of having located the sites for the future restaurants, when the founder decided to make a visit to review and approve the chosen sites. All of my sites were approved with flying colors and we opened 18 Papa John’s Restaurants. After the parent company went public, Billy and I both invested and purchased stock in it, which turned out to be a wise investment for us. Later Billy sold his franchise to an investment group from Lafayette, Louisiana.
